Well... it's our last "Wake Up" on board the Disney Magic !
Our luggage is all hauled away and, by now, placed ashore in the terminal... waiting for us to go through the disembarking process at the Port of Barcelona.
It's been a GREAT, once in a lifetime, trip !!!
We saw, touched, and experienced amazing historical sites and numerous exotic countries we had only read about, dreamed about, or seen on television !
Not to be forgotten were the amazing people we met on board the ship:
our table staff, room staff, the staffers at various events, our guides at each country's excursions...
AND especially our dining tablemates... with whom, over luxurious meals, we got to share our daily experiences, receive a few cruising pointers, and learn a little about their interesting "back-home" lives too !
A final perusal of our ship cabin, and a few last photos of the many intricate Disney details... like this clock shaped like a ship's propeller.
A fine art print by Disney artists on the wall... this one showing a treasure-laden pirate captain about to fall in the water from his tilting little rowboat.
Kathy sneaks in a final little nap while I'm finishing up the packing of the carry-on bags... then it's off to breakfast by ourselves.
All our dining tablemates have already jetted away, earlier in the morning, headed for their hometowns!
A last bit of spoiling us with fancy folded napkins and our own personal waitstaff... ready to do our bidding at the snap of our fingers !
Ohhhh no, who's going to spoil us and take care of us tomorrow... and the next day ???
Vintage pictures of Walt Disney and his wife, Lillian, are scattered throughout the ship.
We say goodbye to the splendor of the Disney Magic, as once we finish breakfast, it is a quick shuffle out the port exit and suddenly...
We find ourselves standing outside on the dock looking back at our magnificent "home" we've enjoyed for the past two weeks !
It is a bittersweet parting.
We had many, many great memories on board this cruise.
BUT, now we aren't even allowed back on board... and that is the saddest reality.
All is not to be forlorn, even though there is a gray, light drizzle of rain falling...
we now begin our short 3-day jaunt around the city of Barcelona, Spain !
As we head to our "Hotel Oasis" near downtown Barcelona, we spy many unusual and spectacular sites... more of which are in a separate blog story on our blogsite.
Check this Spanish mini-policia car !
The centuries old Port of Barcelona building, near their boardwalk area, welcomes us to the city !
A last parting glance back remembering one of our favorite waiters on the Disney Magic... (actually I got the picture out of order so I tacked it on at the end )
I'm so very glad we took this amazing and unbelievable Mediterranean trip when we did !
Try it... You'll love it, too !!!
